The Ekiti Air Cargo was commissioned by Mr Sirika, the minister of Aviation on October 15, 2022.  Mr Sirika, who performed the official inauguration of the airport, was among the personalities on board of the aircraft, which flew all the way from Abuja to make the historic landing on Ekiti soil.
