The trajectory of this promise has been marked by initial operational successes, significant financial commitments, and, most recently, troubling reports of project abandonment, complicating its overall status as fifty/fifty.

Water Scheme Projects abandoned in Oyo State

Few months to the end of Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, it has been recorded that the Water scheme projects that were re-initiated by the governor have been abandoned by contractors after initiating earlier works on the projects. These abandoned projects were initiated to attend to the needs of people in rural areas to access potable water supply.

Governor Makinde proposes 3 billion Naira for Water Supply in Oyo State

Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a three billion naira investment plan for water supply in order to find solutions to the water problems in major cities and rural areas of Oyo state.  

As disclosed by the Chairman of the Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Engr. Najeem Omirinde,  N500 million was dedicated to the repair of faulty public boreholes throughout the state out of the 3 billion naira investment.
