We Will Complete The Over 300 Km Of Road Projects From Omituntun 1.0 Within Two Years Of Being Re-elected.

Governor Seyi Makinde has broken his promise of completing over 300 km of road projects from the Omituntun 1.0 within two years of being re-elected. He had campaigned and vehemently promised that he was going to complete the over 300km of roads in his first two years. He has failed to do this as the second year elapsed on May 29, 2025. While he has budgeted and mobilised contractors to commence work on road projects in Oyo state, he is short of completing this project.

In September 2025 the Oyo State Government approved a batch of road projects worth over N113 billion to be funded from the N300 billion loan recently approved by the House of Assembly. According to the state Commissioner for Works and Public Transport, Arc. Mojeed Mogbonjubola, the approvals were given at the weekly State Executive Council meeting at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo State. Briefing journalists, on Tuesday, Sept., 9, 2025,  shortly after the meeting, Mogbonjubola said the new approvals cover both new and ongoing projects across various parts of the state.

The commissioner gave the approved road projects and the cost. Hopefully, the approval will be done promptly and this will lead to greater developmental strides in the state.
