We Will Rehabilitate 60 Km Of Feeder Roads Within The State At The Rate Of 15 Km/year

Source: Oyo State Roadmap for Sustainable Development 2023-2027

Governor Seyi Makinde promised to rehabilitate 60 km of feeder roads across Oyo State at 15 km per year during his second term (2023-2027). For rural farmers and communities, this would improve access to markets, reduce transport costs for farm produce, boost agricultural trade, and enhance connectivity between villages and urban centers.

The feeder roads rehabilitation program was launched in December 2023, when the administration earmarked an initial 95.58 kilometres of feeder roads for asphaltic improvement and reconstruction in the Ibadan metropolis, with a 12-month completion deadline. By July 2024, just seven months into the project, 38.48 kilometres had been completed and commissioned, with the remaining 57.1 kilometres ongoing.

Makinde Commissions 38.48km Feeder Roads

The recent commissioning of eight feeder roads, totalling 38.48 kilometres, reconstructed within the Ibadan Zone underscores the unwavering commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde to addressing the critical infrastructure deficit in road construction across Oyo State.

While commissioning the feeder roads, Governor Makinde said:

“…this commissioning today will be the first of many. Our administration earmarked an initial 95.58km of feeder roads for asphaltic improvement and reconstruction in December 2023. This is just half-way through it and they are to be completed within 12 months. With over 38km completed and the remaining 57km ongoing, I can rightly say we are over half-way done.” Read more
