Engr. Seyi Makinde is the 28th executive Governor of Oyo State. Prior to his election, he was the Group Managing Director of Makon Group Limited; an indigenous oil and gas company in Nigeria. Makinde lost in his run for the Oyo South Senatorial seat in 2007; he lost at the primary election to run for the same seat in 2010, and in his run for Governor in 2015. He is married to Tamunominini Makinde, and they have three children
